Sledding

More snow -- I love it! Just wish it wasn't coming with subzero temperatures...That justmakes it so hard to go outside. But yesterday we braved it long enough to get a little sledding in again. Jacob and Mac were complaining too much about it being cold to venture out. Steve really wanted to go -- Thanks, Art Nikki and their kids for not making him do it alone! This time I figured I should take out the video camera...It's always fun! The video is a little long, but fun to watch.

Christmas Decorations

Steve loves decorating for Christmas! The day after Thanskgiving was beautiful out so he did not miss the change to get the lights up.He really watched lights all over the roof this year...

When I grabbed the camera Steve asked if I was taking pictures for insurance after he falls or to be able to make fun of him....I still haven't answered that question!

Something doesn't seem right when you need a ladder to get the second ladder already on the roof...

No, he didn't fall off...but goofing off like this it is surprising!

the huge wreath Steve made...

You know, the decorations are almost the same as last year, but there is something about taking pictures in the snow that really made the difference. There is nothing like being in Colorado this time of year!

Nuggets vs Nets game

Last night Steve and I had a chance to go the the Nuggets game against the Nets. With the worst record in the NBA (0-13!)we really were hoping the Nuggets did not overlook the Nets. I had never been to a pro-basketball game...It was a great night!

Another Sunday afternoon....

Have I said it yet? I love being back in Colorado? I guess it falls under the old saying you don't know what you've got until its gone. Well, it took us moving away for 3 years to realize that.

For Steve, fall Sunday's have always been about watching the Broncos play football, something we couldn't always do from home in Tennessee. Sometimes Steve really gets into it, and I don't think I would have left the house with him looking like this yesterday!

Only thing missing was a big foam finger!
We got some snow Saturday night.
Mac and his friends wanted to take advantage of the snow and go sledding at the park.
Steve helped Mac and his friends get started down the hill.

And there they go....

Mac bailed out...

They didn't all make it to the bottom on the sled

Steve really had a good time on the sleds too. He tried not to hit the fence but ended up rolling over instead.

There go the boys again...

And they fall off again....

Looks like they are having a blast!
Mac is too funny! He had a hard time getting up for school today. When he finally did, he couldn't understand why he had to go to school with there being snow on the ground. I guess he still thinks he is in Tennessee where everything shuts down at the thought of snow, unlike Colorado where people know what to do when there's white stuff on the ground!

Poor Tots! He is definitely a warm weather dog! Every time it gets cold, he wants nothing to do with going outside. We have to force him to go out and take care of business. We had a fire going most of the day and Tots loved hanging out in front of it.

Incline in Manitou Springs

The Incline in Manitou Springs...Never meant to be a trail. It began over a century ago as tracks for a work train used to install pipeline. Then for decades it acted as a tourist attraction bringing riders up the mountainside. When that train was scrapped in 1990 the abandoned ties became a workout for spot for mountain runners. It is short and steep, reaching a 50 degree slope at one point, gaining 2000 feet of elevation in 3/4 of a mile.

Nicole as we started up the trail
Here I am ready to begin

Part way up the trail...see how far we still have to go?

Steve gave up the camera long enough to tell he's still here!

Look at how far we have come

What an amazing view!

Steve and Nicole taking a moment to catch our breath

Are we there yet?!

We have definately come a long way!

We took the switchbacks on Barr Trail back down

Steve really did enjoy himself...
but it did start to get a little chilly as we made our way down the trail

I thought this bush was cool looking..

Beautiful Fall Day!

Today was beautiful! It was hard to stay in the office today, I just wanted to be outside. So while I couldn't stay out all day I went on a wlak at lunch and I never get tired of the mountains.

I love the view!

Makes it hard to stay inside that's for sure...

I met a few deer along the walk back to work

They just hung out along the side of the road
