After several weekends of thunderstorms and rain, we finally had a day with some sunshine! It was so nice to be able to go out this morning and enjoy it. Because there was a chance of afternoon storms we went to Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn, GA, about 40 minutes from home. There were a variety of trails to choose but to make sure we beat the weather we decided on the Waterfalls Trail. This 2 mile hike to the bottom of the gorge into the canyon on a 40-degree slope included a 600-step staircase, one way -- and yes the boys counted to make sure! At the bottom were two waterfalls cascading over layers of sandstone into pools below.
TRAILS IS DANGEROUS.
As you can see grammar is not strong here...
At least the park decided to remove the "an' shit" from the sign!
Here we are at the start of the morning...
He was trying to convince us it was raining!
Jacob did not believe there would be 1200 steps (down then up) so he counted the entire way down the trail!
Never fails...Jacob took a moment to relax by the waterfall and Mac had to mess with him.
Here we are by the one of the waterfalls
Nicole and Steve
The second waterfall was very impressive
