Last weekend in Tennessee

Today we went to Ruby Falls and took a half mile walk into the center of Lookout Mountain. The walking tour goes through caverns filled with unusual formations, ended at the waterfall. Located over 1120 feet beneath the surface, Ruby Falls is the nation's largest and deepest waterfall open to the public. the 145 foot fall dumps hundreds of gallons of water each minute into the subterranean river.

Here we all are before the tour begins

Can you make out the fish?

As you look at this formation, you see steak and potatoes...
Think Steve is hungry?

During the fall is the Haunted Caverns...
While waiting to go back up after out tour, Steve could not resist taking a peak beyond the "Do Not Enter" sign.

Our last weekend in Georgia....

Saturday night we decided to go to the drive in
On the big screen:

We got there an hour and a half before the first one started to make sure we got a good spot...

Waiting...

And waiting...

As some fog came in we weren't sure if this was going to turn out to be a good idea.

Still waiting...

And waiting...
The first movie did not start until 10pm!
Transformers was great!

The fog did roll in pretty heavy.
The second movie did not start until 12:45am (!!) and we ended up having to leave before it was over because you couldn't see 2 rows in front of us let alone the screen. It was still a fun night!

Happy Father's Day! Lunch...

Too hot for a cookout...Some days it seems like someone forgot to turn off the heat.

Instead for lunch we went to Shogun for Japanese food.

Jacob wished I would put away the camera...
But since I just got a new one this was a good change to try it out.

Almost time to eat...

Happy Father's Day! Bowling

Hot!!! That is the only way to describe how it has been outside the last week! As I have been leaving for work it is already 75 degrees or more, with the daily highs reaching more than 95! It really makes it difficult to enjoy being outside. After spending some time this morning packing and mowing the lawn, we decided to go bowling for a little while.

Here are some of the highlights of the day.

Moving back to Colorado...take 2

This may sound familiar! You you may have noticed a similar post last week ... We are moving back to Colorado Springs the first week of July. The truck is being dropped off July 1 and picked up July 6 , with us scheduled to leave the next day. There were pictures of what we thought would be our new home...Let's just say that just didn't work out. Everything happens for a reason and while it created a very stressful and hectic weekend, we have a new home.
It is east of Powers and Constitution...
2740 Fredricksburg...
4 bedrooms, 3 bath finished basement

Rock City

So we have lived in Chattanooga for 3 years now and never made it to Lookout Mountain...until yesterday! We went to Rock City, the Incline Railway and will visit Ruby Falls next weekend.

Opened to the public in 1932, Rock City got its name from its naturally formed "streets and avenues" through the mountainside. I remember as we first drove to Chattanooga wondering just what Rock City was...It is advertised along the highways and interstates on 900 barn rooftops with "See Rock City" from Michigan to Texas.

This 14 acre property has massive rock formations estimated to be 200 million years old. The gardens have more than 400 different species of native wildflowers, plants, shrubs and trees.

If you were thinking it looked like Jacob was added to the picture that would be pretty close! Sometimes we have to force him to be part of the family!

As we were walking through the trail, we passed through Rainbow Corridor. Each window had a different color glass, creating a rainbow of colors on the walls...very beautiful!

The rock slipped and Steve wanted to put it back...

Cave of the Winds
Don't think it is the same as the one in Colorado Springs though

Many of the passageways had low clearance, making Jacob have to duck down to pass through.

Here is Steve -- again carrying the weight of the world on his back!
